Angelica sinensis
Angelica sinensis, a traditional Chinese medicine name. It is the dried root of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.)Diels, a plant of the Apiaceae family. It is mainly produced in the southeastern part of Gansu Province, with the highest output and better quality in Minxian County. It is followed by Yunnan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei and other provinces, all of which are cultivated. It has the effects of tonifying blood and promoting blood circulation, regulating menstruation and relieving pain, as well as moistening the intestines and facilitating defecation. It is often used for blood deficiency sallow complexion, vertigo palpitations, menstrual disorders, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain due to cold deficiency, rheumatic arthralgia, injuries from falls and blows, sores and ulcers, constipation due to intestinal dryness.
